Bob Walz
Metro Area Director
Lincoln-Southeast Nebraska
Bob was born in Denver, CO and moved with his family to Minden, NE in the 6th grade. He went to UNL and went on staff with the Navigators after college. Bob served in Japan, Iowa, Kansas and back in Lincoln. He went on staff as the Southeast NE FCA Area Director in 2024. For a few years before that he was a mobilized volunteer with FCA at Nebraska Wesleyan and also became the chaplain for Wesleyan football. God led him to FCA through my relationships with FCA staff and my widening ministry to athletes.
Bob wants to see coaches and athletes come to know Christ and follow Him wholeheartedly. He believes the platform of sports is a leveraging platform for reaching those who live in the sports world and those who love the sports world for the advancement of the gospel to the rest of the world.
When asked what he’s excited about, Bob said “I am seeing an increasing interest in high school and college aged young men and women to the gospel of Jesus and a desire to follow him. I believe that the Lord is at work in a unique way in this new generation and I've especially seen it lately in the athletic world.”
Bob and his wife, Sandy, try to workout every day. She works at a local YMCA, where they exercise and they also like to go on 4+ mile walks. Bob also likes to read and watch movies. They also love being around their eight grandkids and attending their sporting and school events.
